Day 5 USJ Osaka to Tokyo

Today everyone woke up early than previous days because we would board Shinkansen from Osaka to Tokyo. But before we went to Tokyo we decided to go to USJ(Universal Studio Japan) but only before the ticket entrance just so that we could take some photos with USJ as background. We went to Osaka station and proceed to Universal City station. There were some parents with their baby strollers in line to the elevator, so we had to join the queue. Outside the elevator is already the Universal Studio Japan. There was strong gust blowing to us just outside the elevator, we had to take shelter in a convenience store(I don't remember what was it, maybe 7Eleven). We only took some photos in the USJ front areas until the USJ Globe. Afterwards, we returned to the Universal City station and went to Shin-Osaka station to take Shinkansen to Tokyo. We reserved the seats on the left side so we could view Mount Fuji. During the trip, we saw an area with snow covered all the roofs. The bullet train...

Day 4, Nara and Kyoto

Gambar
I rose early like the other days and ate 4 onigiris that I bought yesterday. As usual, we were behind schedule for today as well. Today we went to Nara to see the biggest Buddha statue in Todaiji Temple. We arrived at Kintetsu Nara station, which is not a JR station but the closer one to our destination. Nara is known for Buddhism city in the past and still is. So there are many places coloured with Buddhism stuffs. Out of the station, we visited Lawson because my friends needed some food. I also bought an onigiri even though I devoured 4 this morning. From Lawson, we walked to Nara Park and met with some deer. Unlike what I saw in the YouTube videos where many deer usually seen near the temple vicinity, some deer were actually roaming in the sidewalk. There were many deer snack sellers where the deer would hang around. You can buy the snack for 500 yen and try feeding some deer. Also, be careful when walking and pay attention to the road as you might not want to step on de...

Day 3 in Japan, Surprise and Dissapointment in Osaka-Kyoto

Gambar
As usual, because of series of late sleep, not everyone was ready in the morning. I woke up early but the others were not. We were supposed to go to Kobe that day but had to cancel due to this situation . Naturally, after taking bath I went to Lawson 100 to buy my breakfast. No food shop was open at early in the morning, so the convenient store was the answer for breakfast. I guess most people in Japan breakfast at their own home. Since we cancelled the Kobe trip, I suggested going to Osaka Castle instead since we couldn't go there yesterday. We arrived at Osakajokoen station and descended the long stair to enter the Osaka Castle's outer area. During the walk, we encountered several food stalls lined up. I tried the fried noodles because it does not have meat in it. The portion is quite big but it certainly needed more salt. After a pleasant walk to the inner side, we arrived at some kind of gate, but there was still need for more walk to really get into the castle vicinity....

Day 2 in Japan, Osaka-Kyoto

Gambar
Woke up at 6 AM although sleep past midnight, I readied myself to start the journey that day. Bought two onigiris and inari sushi in Lawson 100(almost all items are 100 yen, but with tax, it becomes 108 yen) in front of our rented house. The wind was blowy outside of the house. My friend along with his family risen up late(apparently, after I slept, they still couldn't sleep because of their child still awake and their bedroom was not warm enough) so our schedule was pushed back. Before we went out, the host of our rented house came and explained to us about many things from how to use the cloth dryer to how to recycle the trash. After everyone was ready(I believe it was almost 10 AM), instead of going to Chibune station, we went to JR Mitejima station, which is another station that is said to be close. The reason we picked JR Mitejima station is that we wanted to try new station. Moreover, we wanted to try to save money as much as we could since we don't need to use S...

First time to Japan

Gambar
I have always been wanted to visit Japan and finally for the first time, I did. On March 2017, I went to Japan with my friend and his family(wife and child of 3 years old). We took All Nippon Airways(ANA) Airplane departing from Soekarno-Hatta Airport to Narita Airport. The flight was pleasant without any flaw but one thing, the food . Because I am a non-meat eater, I had a vegetarian meal during the flight. ANA has several choices of vegetarian meals and I opted for the oriental meal version. The meal was not really that bad but it was not filling and some of the foods are cold. Next time, I should bring my own food. Aside from the food, everything is okay. The stewardesses are all beautiful. The seat is comfortable with a small pillow and blanket prepared. I can also watch movies(headphone is available but I used my own earphone) and play simple games using the device attached behind every seat in front of you. What I like about taking an airplane is a view of clouds and sk...
